About the film
Tom & Jerry is one of the most famous cartoons ever made. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera at MGM, the very first short appeared in 1940, and the cat-and-mouse pair have been chasing each other ever since, on TV, in films and on phones all over the world.
The idea is simple: Tom the cat wants to catch Jerry the mouse, and Jerry always outsmarts him. There is almost no talking, so anyone in any country can enjoy it. The original shorts won seven Academy Awards, and generations of kids have grown up laughing at frying pans, mousetraps and Spike the bulldog.
